Course Restrictions

The course is a combination of city streets, private roadways, and the Cheshire Rail Trail. The available width limits what use we can support while maintaining a safe environment for everyone.

To keep everyone safe ... do not take strollers, bicycles, running joggers, or pets onto the course.

Race Timing

There will be two clocks used for timing ... one for walkers and one for runners.

Walker Timing

  • When the walker's starting signal is given (approximately 8:00am) the walker's clock will start.
  • When a walker crosses the finish line his/her time can be read from the walker's clock but it will not be recorded.
  • Walkers can see their time when they cross the finish line and they can copy it down if they so please.

Runner Timing

  • When the runner's starting signal is given (approximately 8:30am) the runner's clock will start.
  • When a runner crossed the finish line his/her time will be read from the runners clock and recorded.
  • Runners can check after the race to determine how they related to the other runners.

Race Results

The top overall male and female runners, top male and female runner age category winners, and top male and female walkers will be published at roadrace-results.html after the race on July 4.

Proceeds

All proceeds to benefit: PFK (Pathways for Keene, Inc. (a non-profit (501C3 tax exempt) group of volunteers who promote the development and use of alternative transportation in the City of Keene.)

This year all proceeds will go towards the construction of Roundhouse-T Phase II on the Cheshire Rail Trail between Church Street and Island Street. PFK needs to raise the remaining $20,000 for this critical trail section to meet its committment to provide a total of $30,000.

After that, PFK is committed to providing $30,000 for the Roundhouse-T Phase II Project on the Cheshire Rail Trail to connect School Street and Island Street.
