Find Starting Line

Course Description

Due to the construction in the Railroad Square area the course is revised this year as it was in 2007, 2008, and 2009.

  • START - Railroad Square.
  • East on Railroad Street
  • Enter parking lot
  • Right Turn at back of lot
  • Through Rail fence (watch out for posts)
  • Along gravel road next to brook
  • Cross Water Street
  • Industrial Heritage Trail.
  • One-mile mark just before Eastern Avenue.
  • Bear Right onto Eastern Avenue.
  • Straight through intersection and bear left onto Marlboro Street.
  • Right turn onto Optical Avenue Extension.
  • Right turn into Timken grass (just past Holden driveway).
  • Cross grass to lot behind Timken building.
  • Left turn towards Optical Avenue.
  • Left onto Optical Avenue - this is the 2 mile mark.
  • Left onto Optical Avenue Extension.
  • Left onto Marlboro Street.
  • Cross intersection onto Eastern Avenue.
  • Three-mile mark at same location as one-mile mark.
  • Bear left onto Industrial Heritage Trail.
  • Cross Water Street
  • Along gravel road next to brook
  • Through Rail fence (watch out for posts)
  • Left Turn at back of lot
  • West on Railroad Street
  • FINISH - Railroad Square.

    (Exact course length - 4 miles minus 143 feet.)

Registration

  • Start/Finish Line - Railroad Square, Main St., Keene, NH (3 blocks North of Keene State College)
  • Schedule:
    • Registration - 7:15 AM - Railroad Square
    • Walkers Start - 8:00 AM
    • Runners Start - 8:30 AM
    • Awards Ceremony - 9:45 AM
  • Race will he held rain or shine.
  • Wheel-measured course with marker at each mile. (Exact course length - 4 miles minus 143 feet.)
  • Mostly asphalt with some grass.
  • Most of course away from traffic.
  • Traffic controlled.
  • Facilities (toilets) at:
      Keene Information Center
      Across Main Street
  • Donations - $20.00 ($15.00 tax deductible)
  • Your registration guarantees that you will receive:
      T-shirt - Pre-registered - T-shirt in requested size on race day
      T-shirt - Race-day -registered - remaining available t-shirt or "rain check".
      Entry in gift certificate drawing(s).
  • Awards to first male and female runner in each age category.
  • Awards to first male and female walker.
  • Snacks and water for all participants.
  • Awards and prizes at race conclusion.
  • We cannot accommodate strollers, bicycles, running joggers, or running companion pets on the course due to safety considerations. Do not take strollers, bicycles, running joggers, or running companion pets onto the course. Regardless of how cute they may be ... they are a hazard to themselves and others.

Race Results

The top overall male and female runners, top male and female runner age category winners, and top male and female walkers will be published at roadrace-results.html as soon as they are known.

Proceeds

All proceeds to benefit: Pathways for Keene, Inc. (a non-profit (501C3 tax exempt) group of volunteers who promote the development and use of community supported alternative transportation routes in the City of Keene.)

This year all proceeds will go towards the construction of the Roundhouse-T Phase II project that will connect School Street to Island Street.
