Green Bike Project

Green Bike is an idea who's time has come. It will debut (hopefully) during Spring 2002.

Green Bike is a new creative solution to alternative transportation within the City of Keene. .

  • It doesn't contribute to pollution.
  • Zero carbon added to atmosphere.
  • It's quick
  • It eliminates parking hassles (and tickets).
  • It reduces traffic congestion.
  • It's good for the body.
  • It recycles bicycles that might just end up in the landfill.
  • It's just fun to ride a bike to wherever you need to go!

This is how Green Bike works:

  • Bike racks at the Keene State College Mason Library will be stocked with Green Bikes (restored bicycles completely coated in a recognizable green).

  • When you need to ride somewhere check out a bike with a Keene State College or Keene Public Library card.

  • When you are done simply return the bike to the Library.

Green Bike is completely FREE and for community use.

Green Bike is currently available only on the Keene State College campus. With support from the Keene community and the future approval of the Keene City Council, we will expand throughout the City of Keene.
